President and Co Founder

Robert M. Palmer, M.D., F.A.A.O.S., F.A.O.F.A.S.

Achievements: Dr. Palmer has attained a Master's Degree in Genetics as well as a degree in medicine, specializing in foot and ankle orthopedics. He is credited worldwide for finding the genetic aspects of clubfeet and is both an Emeritus Faculty Member of Indiana University School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and also a Fellow of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has held board positions in the Sertoma Club both locally and nationally.

Pam Haig, C. Ped.

Achievements: 30+ years of clinical and manufacturing pedorthic experience. Opened the first pedorthic medical clinic in Indianapolis in 1984 - Foot One, Inc. and is the only pedorthic clinic affiliated with a manufacturing lab in Indiana accredited with BAPFOL.  She is past co-owner of OSI Labs Inc., Indianapolis  where she developed a work-flow analysis creating a one week production time for feet orthoses and past co-owner of Southwest Labs, Houston, Texas.  Ms. Haig has served on the Oklahoma State University Health and Environmental Technology Advisory Board since 1996 and was voted Chairman of the Board for the year 2004. She was founding and past Treasurer for The International Alliance For Pedorthic Education And Advancement (The Alliance).  She has lectured at the PFA National Symposium in 2005 and internationally on Advanced Posting Techniques For Complex Foot And Ankle Deformities.  She is the visionary founder of The Robert M. Palmer, M.D., Institute Of Biomechanics, Inc., a not-for-profit pedorthic biomechanics school and leads an international pediatric campaign with an emphasis on pediatric education and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries, obesity and juvenile diabetes. She also serves as the Co-Principal of the Asian Pedorthic School offered at the Sun-yen Sat University and the Asian Pedorthic School Manufacturing Lab in Canton, China. She spends much of her time devoted to clinical applications of pedorthic biomechanics as well as sharing her expertise as a corporate educator to many international foot wear and foot care companies.

Board Of Directors

Theodore H. Morden, D.P.M., D.A.B.P.F., F.A.C.F.A.S.

Graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in 1977 and served a one year Podiatric Residency at Lakeview Osteopathic Hospital. Dr. Morden is the Past Chairman of Winona Hospital Podiatry Staff, Administrator of Indiana Arthoroscopic Association and Resident Instructor from 1978 through 2001. During his years in private practice, he developed a Pedorthic Internship Program in which he served many years as  Program Director. He is a Board Member, Consultant, and Scientific Committee Advisor of The Robert M. Palmer, M.D., Institute of Biomechanics, a 501(c)(3) School. He has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member of Oklahoma State University – Okmulgee. Dr. Morden continues to contribute to the educational endeavors of individuals through The Theodore H. Morden, D.P.M. Scholarship Fund. For his many years of service to the medical profession, the RMPI proudly named their biomechanics department The Theodore H. Morden Biomechanics Laboratory. 


Vice President of Operations, Co-founder

Joe Haig, O.S.T., C.Ped. 

Achievements: Along with two physicians, Mr. Haig founded OSI Labs, Indianapolis and Southwest Labs, Houston, managing a 36 employee manufacturing facility; accredited to manufacture orthoses by BAPFOL standards.  Mr. Haig began his career in the late 1970's by attending the Ball State University Orthopedic Shoe Technician program.  Currently, Mr. Haig manages Foot One’s manufacturing lab and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma State University. He also serves as consultant to numerous labs internationally and is Co-Principal of the Asian Pedorthic School founded at the Sun-yen Sat University and the Asian Pedorthic School Manufacturing Lab in Canton, China. Joe spends much of his time sharing his expertise in podiatric and orthopedic manufacturing theories and techniques in the design and production of foot and ankle orthoses. Mr. Haig, along with several physicians began Uni.Lab; a podiatric manufacturing lab housed within the RMPI as a revenue stream to ensure the longevity of the vision of the RMPI. His goal is to ensure that students learn the highest industry standards in manufacturing and designing prescription feet orthoses under BAPFOL accredited standards.

Executive Director of Business Development and Operations

Kenneth Krueger, D.P.M.

Dr. Krueger has over 30 years experience meeting the foot care needs of his patients.  He began his practice in Indianapolis in 1977.  His goal has always been to provide the best possible education to his patients and their loved ones.  He strongly believes that once those involved are informed of their Podiatric condition regarding the conditions cause, progression, as well as all treatment alternatives at that time, selection of the best treatment plan becomes an easy decision.

Richard O. Lundeen, D.P.M.

Achievements:  Diplomate, American Board of Podiatric Surgery,  American Board of Foot Orthopaedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. Author, lecturer, inventor.  Patented the Triaxial Posting Technique. Founder OSI Labs, Indianapolis and Houston. Head of the Winona Podiatric Residency Program and offers his residents to assist with the Institute in lectures, curriculum, instruction, etc.

Franklin D. Nash, M.D.

Achievements: Principal, Disability & Impairment Medicine (http://web.mac.com/wisenash) Professor (Ret.) of Medicine, Physiology and Biophysics and Instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery, Indiana University School of Medicine & Medical Center. Associate Director (Ret.), NIH NHLBI Specialized Center of Research in Hypertension. Senior Medical Director (Ret.), The Golden Rule Insurance Company.


Direction of Scholorships

Julie Haig, CNA, M.T., C.Ped.

Achievements: Associate of Science in Business Communication, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Massage Therapist, and Board Certified Pedorthist.  She has been working in the Pedorthic profession since 1999 as well as volunteering with the RMPI both nationally and internationally by sharing it's vision of pedorthic education and prevention. Ms. Haig also spends her time volunteering for the National Cancer Society and various political parties while continuing her medical degree.

Brian Bartley, P.T., D.C. 

Achievements:  Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of Pain Management Specialists of Indianapolis - A Spine Rehabilitation Center.  Adjunct Professor at the University of Indianapolis.  Educator and lecturer.


Thomas Cherné, B.S., B.M.E.T., M.T.

Achievements:  Bachelors Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, Associate of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Post-graduate work in bodywork and movement therapy. 13 years of technical/legal experience in the health care industry providing compliance documentation and working in assistive technologies. Tom also has 12 years clinical experience working as a massage and movement therapist and currently maintains a private practice.


Steven A. Herbst, M.D., F.A.B.O.S., F.A.A.O.S.

Achievements: Dr Herbst is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship.  Researcher, co-inventor, author and lecturer.  Patented an Internal Total Ankle Joint Prosthesis.

Achievements:  American Board of Podiatric Surgery, AO Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. Adjunct Professor Butler University and Dr. Wm. M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.  Researcher, author, and lecturer.
